Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership (KN) strongly condemns the decision of the House of Representatives to reject the franchise application of ABS-CBN Corporation.
In this time of pandemic where millions of familes are growing hungry by the day, this heartless decision by Congress will now add more than 11,000 fellow Filipinos to the growing number of unemployed in our country.
This decision marks another sad milestone in our country’s history. It is a clear blow to press freedom and another blow to our already weakening democratic institutions.
We call on the Filipino people to continue to make our voices heard. This is a time for Filipinos to show our leaders our collective outrage now and to hold them to account in the years to come.
Kaya Natin fully supports the initiative of various groups and institutions in pushing for a people’s initiative that would help grant a franchise to ABS-CBN Corporation and make the true voice of the Filipino heard by our leaders.
